TODAY'S DEVOTION. QUALITY FRIENDSHIP.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "A friend is always a friend, and relatives are born to share our troubles." (Proverbs 17:17 CEV).
Friendship is sweet and can be very interesting and fulfilling when you meet a quality friend who stands by you in bad or good times. Instead of talking about getting a quality friend, I would rather talk about becoming a quality friend. If all of us become the friend we expect then quality friendship will be easier to achieve. When you constantly go out of your way to show yourself friendly, that is a sign of lasting quality friendship.
The bedrock of quality friendship is love, the opening scripture in another version says,"“A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.”(Proverbs 17:17 AMPC). Fair weather friendship is not quality friendship. Your friends need you most in their trying period. Most friendships are selfish because the parties are only concerned with what they can get out of the relationship and not what they can give.
The best way to experience quality friendship is to ask what is my contribution here? Be nice, kind and hospitable such that people feel relaxed in your company. You must learn how to ease tension when you are around your friends instead of creating it. "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." (Proverbs 18:24 KJV).
Today's Prayer
Help me Lord to have a positive attitude in my friendship and relationships as I create quality friendships in Jesus Name. Amen
