TODAY'S DEVOTION.TO LIVE A QUALITY LIFE, STOP WORRYING PART 2.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT, second edition)

We established in yesterday's devotion that it takes more than willpower to stop worrying and that it takes four things to stop worrying. Firstly , get to know God first and secondly put God first in every area of your life.We will be looking at the other two today.

3.Live one day at a time. The Bible says, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34 NCV).
If you’re worrying about tomorrow, you can’t enjoy today. You will miss today’s blessings. It’s okay to plan for tomorrow, but you have to live for today. When you’re always worried about tomorrow, the future gets overwhelming. But God will give you the grace and strength you need when you get there. Right now, you only need enough power for today.

4. Trust God to care. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7 NLT, second edition).
How do you do that? One way is to memorize God’s promises in the Bible. They are like an insurance policy for believers. When you know something is covered, you don’t worry about it anymore.Another way is to pray. If you prayed as much as you worried, you would have a lot less to worry about.

TODAY'S PRAYER.
Help me Father to put you first in every area of my life, live one day at a time, not worry about tomorrow but instead focus on what you are doing in my life right now. I trust in your promise to take care of every one of my needs. Help me to trust you more and worry less in Jesus Name. Amen.

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES! TODAY'S SCRIPTURE ."The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." (Luke 18:11 KJV). There are good ways to praise God and also wrong ways of doing it. Indeed high praises open doors before God but the man in the verse above praised God and his door was closed. Why? Because he did it in a wrong way. Never praise God in an attempt to intimidate and condemn others. Do not ever engage in praise and thanksgiving to show you are better than people around you. High praises ought to be with a deep sense of humility to God i.e it is by grace and not by your own effort. When your praises makes people get offended at God as if God is partial it is wrong.
