POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. FRIDAY, 5TH JANUARY 2018. TODAY'S DEVOTION. IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL.

FRIDAY, 5TH JANUARY 2018.

TODAY'S DEVOTION.  IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?” (Isaiah 58. 6-7 KJV)

There has to be a partnership between God and man to make things happen on earth.Fasting means abstaining from food (and sometimes water) for a specified period of time.  Fasting literally means to stand firm or to be steadfast (Isaiah 40:31)

Jesus teaches that fasting like prayer should be done in private and not for show(Mathew 6.16-18). In addition, fasting is a spiritual obligation of the believer(Matthew  6:16-17).  Jesus said “When you fast” not “if you fast”. Below are some of the benefits of prayer and fasting
1. Fasting helps you spend time in prayer and study of the word.

2. Fasting helps you put your body under subjection to the spirit of God in you( I Corinthians 9.27).

3. Fasting helps us  discern Gods will for our lives (Acts 13:2).

4. Fasting humbles your flesh so your spirit can be lifted(Isaiah 40:31).

5. Fasting helps you get direction from God on specific issues of life(Ezra 8:21-23).

6. Fasting is a means to dislodge spiritual opposition (Daniel 10:1-21).

7. Fasting is God’s design for your spiritual empowerment(Luke 4:14).

8. Fasting helps you to obtain revelations from God (Daniel 2:18-19).

TODAY'S RESPONSE
Ask the Lord to empower you mightily with the above benefits as you embark on the forthcoming twenty one days fast.

SUNDAY, 17TH  SEPTEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION.RAIN OF IDEAS FOR PROSPERITY PART 2. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" (Joel 2:23, 28 KJV). The Bible records that Abraham became very rich in cattle, silver and gold. But how did he become outstanding and outshine other bussinessmen? Through the rain of divine ideas by the Holy Ghost which came in response to his giving. Abraham dug wells for his cattle instead of them going about. By divine inspiration he knew what to do to get fatter and fresher cattle and sheep. Isaac also got the secret of irrigation by the re...

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY 23RD MARCH,2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: GOD’S MERCY AT WORK IN YOU.

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY 23RD MARCH,2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: GOD’S MERCY AT WORK IN YOU. TODAY’S SCRIPTURE. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”  (Philippians 2:13 NLT) No matter what you’re going to face in this life, you’re not going to face it alone. God’s mercy is with you, he is in you, and he is for you. “God’s Mercy is working in you.” The word “working” in Greek is the word energos, from which we get the word “energy.” God’s mercy is the energy driver in your life. You’re not just going on willpower. You’re not just going on your own power. Mercy of God says he will give you the power you need, no matter what you’re facing.  Not only is he in you, he is with you. The Bible says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. On that day you will realize that I ...

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES!

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES! TODAY'S SCRIPTURE ."The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." (Luke 18:11 KJV). There are good ways to praise God and also wrong ways of doing it. Indeed high praises open doors before God but the man in the verse above praised God and his door was closed. Why? Because he did it in a wrong way. Never praise God in an attempt to intimidate and condemn others. Do not ever engage in praise and thanksgiving to show you are better than people around you. High praises ought to be with a deep sense of humility to God i.e it is by grace and not by your own effort. When your praises makes people get offended at God as if God is partial it is wrong. This is common with testimonies during thanksgiving, some believers make it look as if others are not serving God enough. ...
