TODAY'S  DEVOTION. POWER OF THE SPIRIT

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE."For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: (Isaiah 44:3 KJV)

God's agenda is to make you a pacesetter and His divine plan to accomplish this has been handed over to the Holy Spirit. He is the One in charge of the kingdom of God on earth today. He is here to complete and fulfil the plan and purpose of God in you here on earth. He is best understood when you know Him as the person of the Holy Spirit.

Quite early in the old testament, God has been pouring the Holy Spirit out in drizzles upon prophets,priests and kings. But in the new testament God never intended that the gift of the Holy Spirit will be given to only few people. That was why Prophet Joel said,"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit." (Joel 2:28, 29 KJV). This generation must fulfil this prophecy.

The Holy Ghost has a number of names, titles and symbols by which He is known. All of which portray His character and personality. His most popular names are the Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost. Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is equal to God the father and God the son but different in function. He is refered  to as God."But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God." (Acts 5:3, 4 KJV)

The Holy Ghost is a unique person not an "it" but a "He". He is not an emotion, a feeling or any kind of expression but a person. With this knowledge, start relating with the Holy Spirit more for your divine empowerment this year . You will celebrate by the Holy Spirit.

TODAY'S PRAYER.
Thank you Holy Spirit for your presence in me. I give you all the glory and submit the authority of my life to you. Rule and reign in me forever in Jesus name. Amen.

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES! TODAY'S SCRIPTURE ."The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." (Luke 18:11 KJV). There are good ways to praise God and also wrong ways of doing it. Indeed high praises open doors before God but the man in the verse above praised God and his door was closed. Why? Because he did it in a wrong way. Never praise God in an attempt to intimidate and condemn others. Do not ever engage in praise and thanksgiving to show you are better than people around you. High praises ought to be with a deep sense of humility to God i.e it is by grace and not by your own effort. When your praises makes people get offended at God as if God is partial it is wrong. This is common with testimonies during thanksgiving, some believers make it look as if others are not serving God enough. ...
