FRIDAY, 11TH AUGUST 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION.SELFISH ATTITUDE.

FRIDAY, 11TH AUGUST 2017.

TODAY'S DEVOTION.SELFISH ATTITUDE.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE.“For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another.”(‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

Sometime ago, a very close pastor friend of mine accused me of "selfishness" because I had not called him for a long time to ask after his welfare. On the other hand, he used to do all the calling. That particular day I called to ask for another pastors friend phone number and he snapped at me seriously and said, "Pastor B why do you call me only when you need a favour, we are supposed to be friends". I got angry at first and said it was not true but later I pondered deeply and remembered he was absolutely correct.

Many of us have not learnt to be selfless in our relationships! We only care when we need something. We tune off when we get it and wait till the next time we are in need. Selfishness is when  a person, action, or motive lacks consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure. Many believers have not learnt how to be  selfless in there relationships with family and friends.

Stop using people by taking advantage of their being nice and reaching out to them only when you are in need. Be real in your relationship with everyone God brings your way. We are called to love one another, not to use one another for personal gain.

TODAY'S QUESTION.
As believers, how can we overcome selfishness as an attitude ?

21ST MARCH,2018. TODAYS DEVOTION.MERCY IN CONFLICTS.

21ST MARCH,2018. TODAYS DEVOTION.MERCY IN CONFLICTS. TODAY’S SCRIPTURE."I beg you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to stop arguing among yourselves. Let there be real harmony so that there won’t be splits in the church. I plead with you to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose." (1 Corinthians 1:10 LB) Stop trying to win arguments. Instead, make it your goal to love those who disagree with you. Go for the love, not the win. Jesus tells us love will always win; he guaranteed that when he walked out of the tomb. When you find yourself in an argument with other believers, use these biblical guidelines for getting along: Let mercy guide your response (Proverbs 3:3–6). In a conflict, most of us say we only want what’s fair, but God’s approach isn’t about being fair. It’s about grace and mercy (Romans 5:8). Let God’s Mercy determine the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8). The truth is not determined by your thoughts or feelings (1 John ...

SUNDAY, 17TH  SEPTEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION.RAIN OF IDEAS FOR PROSPERITY PART 2. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" (Joel 2:23, 28 KJV). The Bible records that Abraham became very rich in cattle, silver and gold. But how did he become outstanding and outshine other bussinessmen? Through the rain of divine ideas by the Holy Ghost which came in response to his giving. Abraham dug wells for his cattle instead of them going about. By divine inspiration he knew what to do to get fatter and fresher cattle and sheep. Isaac also got the secret of irrigation by the re...

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY 10TH APRIL, 2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: BLOOD OF RESTORATION. PT 2.

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY 10TH APRIL, 2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: BLOOD OF RESTORATION. PT 2. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?" (1 Corinthians 10:16 KJV). Every communion table is a kind of renewing the covenant of restoration. Nothing can be more exciting to know that like a meal I can eat and drink blessing of restoration. Look at how Jesus put it Himself," Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." (John 6:53-56 KJV).  So except you keep eating the body and drink...
