TODAY'S DEVOTION.POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN CONFLICT PART 1.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE.“God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT).
Why does God want us have a positive attitude of living at peace with everyone? Because unresolved conflict has three devastating effects in your life.
First, it blocks your fellowship with God. When you’re in conflict with others, you cannot be in harmony with God. When you’re distracted and in conflict with other people, you cannot have a clear connection with God. The Bible says, “If someone says, ‘I love God,’ but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar” (1 John 4:20a NLT).
Secondly, unresolved conflict hinders your prayers. Over and over again the Bible says that where there is conflict sin and disharmony in your life, your prayers are blocked. “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”1 Peter 3:7 KJV. This is not only about marriage but also about our life style.
Thirdly, unsolved conflict hinders your happiness. You cannot be happy and in conflict at the same time. When conflict comes in the front door, happiness goes out via the back. Have you found out how unhappy you become when you hear some peoples names being mentioned or even when you see their pictures on social media? Conflicts or quarrels do more harm than good in life.
TODAYS QUESTION.
Do you think any conflict is worth it if it will block your fellowship with God,hinder your prayers and steal your happiness?
