TODAY'S DEVOTION. PURE IN HEART.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE.“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

You are not pure by your actions only. Purity begins with the heart. God deals with us from the heart, In I Samuel 16:7 when Samuel was  considering Eliab, David's older brother as the one he should anoint as king, God told him, "Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him; for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." God looks at your heart always. Therefore, to be pure make sure your have pure thoughts always, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”(‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭23:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

The heart God is referring to is your “thoughts” if you are pure in your heart (your thoughts) you will be pure before God. It is more worthy that “thinking or thoughts” is not a gift or an attack but rather every thought is a product of the information you are exposed to. In other to make your heart pure, make your thoughts pure and to make your thought pure, make your information pure.

Information comes from your five senses. What you see, hear, feel, taste or touch. You can never be more powerful than your thoughts. Your capacity for purity is measured by the purity of your mind. If you desire to experience genuine  purity, you must guard what your mind feeds on consciously.“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”(Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

The worst enemy of our purity today is the uncontrolled exposure of our mind to junk on social media. Analyse the pictures,videos, articles and adverts you keep checking; are they true,honest, just, pure, lovely,of good report, virtuous or worthy of praise?

TODAY'S PRAYER.
Purify my heart Father with your fire and burn all impure thoughts in my memory. Help me control the information I expose my heart to this year so I can live in purity in Jesus Name.
