FRIDAY, 25TH AUGUST 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. HONOURABLE ATTITUDE

FRIDAY, 25TH AUGUST 2017.

TODAY'S DEVOTION. HONOURABLE ATTITUDE

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Any fool can start arguments; the honorable thing is to stay out of them” (Proverbs 20:3 TEV).

We all use tools, tricks of the trade and skills in relationships that are actually counter productive. They are hurtful, harmful and they don’t get you what you want out of relationships. In fact, they get you the exact opposite behavior. But when we lack wisdom, we use them anyway.

There are many of these tools, but here are just a few:
Comparing. You should
never compare your spouse, kids, boss or anyone else because everybody is unique.

Condemning. When you start laying on the guilt in a relationship, all you’re going to do is get the exact opposite of what you expect. It doesn’t work. It’s foolish.

Contradicting. William James, the famous psychologist said, “Wisdom is the art of knowing what to overlook.” There are some things you just need to overlook.

The Bible says in Proverbs 14:29, “A wise man controls his temper. He knows that anger causes mistakes” (TLB). Have you ever said or done anything stupid out of anger? Because when you get angry, your intelligence goes out of the window. When you get angry, you say and do foolish things that are actually self defeating.

TODAY'S WISDOM
Did you ever think about the fact that there is only one letter difference between “anger” and “danger”? When you get angry, you are in dangerous territory. You are about to hurt others and yourself with your own anger.

SUNDAY, 17TH  SEPTEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION.RAIN OF IDEAS FOR PROSPERITY PART 2. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE. "Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" (Joel 2:23, 28 KJV). The Bible records that Abraham became very rich in cattle, silver and gold. But how did he become outstanding and outshine other bussinessmen? Through the rain of divine ideas by the Holy Ghost which came in response to his giving. Abraham dug wells for his cattle instead of them going about. By divine inspiration he knew what to do to get fatter and fresher cattle and sheep. Isaac also got the secret of irrigation by the re...

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY 23RD MARCH,2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: GOD’S MERCY AT WORK IN YOU.

POTTER'S TOUCH DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY 23RD MARCH,2018. TODAY’S DEVOTION: GOD’S MERCY AT WORK IN YOU. TODAY’S SCRIPTURE. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”  (Philippians 2:13 NLT) No matter what you’re going to face in this life, you’re not going to face it alone. God’s mercy is with you, he is in you, and he is for you. “God’s Mercy is working in you.” The word “working” in Greek is the word energos, from which we get the word “energy.” God’s mercy is the energy driver in your life. You’re not just going on willpower. You’re not just going on your own power. Mercy of God says he will give you the power you need, no matter what you’re facing.  Not only is he in you, he is with you. The Bible says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. On that day you will realize that I ...

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES!

POTTERS TOUCH DEVOTIONAL. SATURDAY, 16TH DECEMBER 2017. TODAY'S DEVOTION. WRONG PRAISES! TODAY'S SCRIPTURE ."The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." (Luke 18:11 KJV). There are good ways to praise God and also wrong ways of doing it. Indeed high praises open doors before God but the man in the verse above praised God and his door was closed. Why? Because he did it in a wrong way. Never praise God in an attempt to intimidate and condemn others. Do not ever engage in praise and thanksgiving to show you are better than people around you. High praises ought to be with a deep sense of humility to God i.e it is by grace and not by your own effort. When your praises makes people get offended at God as if God is partial it is wrong. This is common with testimonies during thanksgiving, some believers make it look as if others are not serving God enough. ...
