TODAY'S DEVOTION. FOUNDATIONAL ATTITUDE!
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE.“I spoke to you in your [times of] prosperity, but you said, I will not listen! This has been your attitude from your youth; you have not obeyed My voice.” (Jeremiah 22:21 AMPC)
Foundation is a very powerful thing in life! Even the Bible in Psalm 11:3 says if the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do? There are some negative attitudes that have become part and parcel of our life that require reformation. In our opening scripture God said, "...This has been your attitude from your youth..." What negative attitude have you had from when you were young that you need to drop? What bad behaviors have you noticed that have become generational?
Negative attitude is contagious and unintentionally hereditary. If you grow up in a house where every one at the slightest provocation fights or quarrels, you are likely to always fight the people in your life. If you were raised in a family where the father physically abuses the wife and the woman insults the husband openly you need to work on your attitude.
Examine yourself by finding out what wrong behavioral traits you got from your foundation and believe God for a change.
If you are quick tempered or arrogant, look back and you may find someone who has it in your foundation. Being born again is dynamic because it disconnects you from the natural birth to a spiritual birth. All your inherited bad attitudes have to be renewed.
The Bible says. “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well formed maturity in you.”(Romans 12:1-2 MSG)
