TODAY'S DEVOTION. HOSTILE/HOSPITABLE ATTITUDE.
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE.“And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities" (Colossians 1:21 AMPC).
To be hostile means to be unfriendly; antagonistic, unkind, bitter, unsympathetic, malicious, vicious, rancorous, venomous, poisonous, virulent; opposed to, averse to, ill-disposed to, disapproving of, unsympathetic to.
If you are not hospitable you are hostile! In the name of "holiness" and "warfare" many of us have lost our virtues and fruits of the spirit in relation to our fellow believers and even unbelievers.
God's love was not to those who served Him in truth and spirit alone. "For God so loved the "world"...". You cannot be a hostile believer and make any positive impact in your calling as a soul winner .
Between "hospitality and hostility", once you choose which you want to embrace, it will soon become a habit. Subsequently, it will play out frequently in every area of your life. It may start with your "enemies" but once they are gone (because hostility will always drive people away from you) then you can be sure you will do the same to your friends. Very soon you will be hostile to your spouse, children and family members. God help you because before you know it,you will become hostile to yourself. Every suicide attempt is an act of hostility to oneself. Whenever you begin to feel lonely ask yourself questions because even God said it is not good to be alone.
The opening scripture says, "...were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities" it means if you are hostile, you will have wicked activities! Can you loosen up a little and play host to those around you. Life is sweet and beautiful if you can be hospitable and kind to the gifts God has given you(men and women in your life).Imbibe a habit of being nice and happy even when you are disappointed. Learn to forgive and move on.
TODAY'S DISCUSSION.
How can one change from being hostile and become hospitable?
