TODAYS DEVOTION. EMPOWERED AGAINST FEAR.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE."Fear not, earth! Be glad and celebrate! God has done great things." (Joel 2:21 MSG).

Fear is an enemy of God's power! Fear is one of the most terrible forms of bondage. It can turn a giant into a vegetable. As a believer you are not supposed to allow fear around you. Your salvation brought you out of fear into a life of freedom and safety.

"For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!" (Romans 8:15 AMP).

You have been given a spirit of adoption, the spirit of sonship, not the spirit of slavery in bondage to fear. Fear is demonic. Hence it is called the spirit of fear, it's an evil spirit. Fear is faith in the negative. You cannot have faith and fear at the same time. It's either you are living in faith or fear. Fear is an indication that you reverence the devil and not God. Fear or faith shows who you believe either satan or God. If you love God, you will believe His word and faith in His word will banish every form of fear.

The Bible says "There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life-fear of death, fear of judgment-is one not yet fully formed in love." (1 John 4:18 MSG). Dealing with the bondage of fear begins with knowing that as a believer in Christ you do not have the spirit of fear.  Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.

Fear cannot rule you, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV). Reject fear anytime it comes, resist the feeling, thoughts and whatever will promote fear in you. Embrace the spirit of power. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life is for empowerment. The Bible says you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you(Acts 1:8). Fear is for weaklings! The righteous are as bold as lions.

Lastly, keep the word of God in your spirit. You cannot have the word of God and be afraid of anything. For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God

TODAY'S CONFESSION.
God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power,love and a sound mind. Fear cannot rule over me in Jesus name. I fear not, I will celebrate this year!
